Description

 BetterBody Foods (BBF) is a world-class organics food distributor and processor. The CDL Driver position is responsible for transporting raw material and finished goods between BBF Warehouses, suppliers and customers. The CDL driver plays a primary role in supporting both distribution and production operations.

Essential Job Duties:

• Execute transfer orders between distribution and production warehouses.
• Perform timely system transactions to maintain inventory accuracy.
• Assist with unloading and loading trailers to be transported.
• Prepare proper paperwork for internal transportation.
• Execute routine safety inspections on tractors, trailers and BetterBody Foods equipment.
• Abide by our SOPs and commitment to high quality food by maintaining a clean equipment and following documented procedures.
• Perform all activities in a safe manner.
• Properly care for and maintain company material handling assets.
• Responsible for the operational condition/cleanliness for the trucks and works with management to schedule any necessary maintenance.
• Maintains the annual registration records for BBF’s fleet.
• Responsible for short distance pick-ups and deliveries when needed.
• Manages the flow of trailers and ensures all trailer needs are met between the BBF facilities.
• Communicates with management on opportunities related to the improvement of the transfer process.
• Assists with other tasks needed, as directed by management

Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

Certified CDL license

High school diploma or equivalent

Highly attentive to detail and competent communicator

Ability to prioritize competing tasks

Preferred experience with different material handling equipment

Job requirements

May be required to lift up to 50 lbs.

Clean driving record

 Supervisory Responsibility 

This position does not have supervisory responsibility.

Work Environment 

This job is exposed to a warehouse/ manufacturing facility.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to allergens (such as peanuts), odors, fumes, dust or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. The temperature of the warehouse is dependent on the weather.

The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee is required to be certified to drive a forklift and have a current CDL license.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work 

This is a full-time, hourly position. Typical work hours are Monday through Friday 7am – 3:30pm or 3pm – 1:30am. Overtime may be required.

Travel 

Local travel will be required as part of CDL Driver responsibilities.

Required Education and Experience 

High School Diploma

Preferred Education and Experience Prior experience working for a GMP/ FDA regulated facility.
